Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an intern/co-op to contribute to KC-135 systems engineering activities. You will work with a cross-functional team to understand requirements and support verification and validation in lab environments.

Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or advanced degree program and able to be onsite for tests. Relocation eligibility offered; US citizenship is required for access to program information.

What You Will Do:

• Understand KC-135 systems engineering processes
• Capture, define, allocate, verify and validate system requirements
• Perform and support system tests in a lab environment in both informal and formal test events
• Assist in the collaboration of cross-functional teams to design and implement new KC-135 features

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session.
• Ability to be onsite in Cedar Rapids for test events and test environment updates

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with various engineering tools including TNT, DOORS/JAMA, JIRA, PREP, Microsoft, SVN and others is desired
• Experience (military or civil aircraft) in avionics systems, specifically testing and troubleshooting
• Working knowledge / understanding of data buses and protocols (Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, and ARINC-429)
• Experience in a Scaled Agile environment using Jira tracking

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
