Job summary

BlackCube Labs in Plano, TX is seeking a QA Automation Engineer with hands-on expertise in the Karate framework to design, develop, and execute automated tests for RESTful APIs and microservices.

You will collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA leads to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of our software products, while integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintaining robust test scripts.

Qualifications

• 3–8+ years of QA experience focused on API test automation.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining test scripts using the Karate framework.
• Strong programming/scripting skills in Java, JavaScript, or Groovy.
• Deep knowledge of REST/SOAP, JSON/XML, and testing tools like Postman or SoapUI.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and version control tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and Git.

Responsibilities

• Test automation development for API validation, using Karate to create and maintain scripts.
• Enhance frameworks to improve reusability, efficiency, and scalability.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Collaborate with engineers and analysts to translate acceptance criteria into clear BDD scenarios.
• Log and track defects with steps to reproduce with developers.
• Validate RESTful and SOAP services, JSON/XML payloads, and SQL checks.
