The Koch Associate Program (KAP) is a career accelerator for early to mid-career professionals passionate about addressing pressing societal challenges through effective and principled approaches. KAP provides associates with tools, mindsets, and community support to succeed as social entrepreneurs, helping to break barriers and eliminate injustice. Associates dedicate one day weekly to experiential learning via Stand Together Fellowships and work at partner organizations the remaining days. The curriculum is designed to enhance development and prepare associates for long-term impact on societal issues.
The Mercatus Center at George Mason University is seeking a Social and Digital Marketing Associate to launch and grow a new brand: Econ Nerds. Launching by summer 2025, Econ Nerds will be a multimedia platform sharing economic insights through videos and podcasts, featuring diverse topics beyond traditional economics. Content will be released weekly, covering topics like global trade, market irrationality, and digital economy strategies.
The key to Econ Nerds’ success will be social media engagement. The Associate will build the brand’s social presence from scratch, working closely with a small team, including MRU’s marketing director, content creators, and a designer. The role involves creating engaging content, managing social media channels, promoting videos and podcasts, and analyzing social media performance. The ideal candidate will develop a distinct voice for the brand, establish posting schedules, create social clips, and collaborate on art and advertising campaigns.
This role is fully remote, with optional access to office space at the Mercatus Center in Arlington, VA.
