Job summary

Asbury Theological Seminary on the Kentucky Campus in Wilmore, KY seeks a Kalas Community and Garden Grounds Student Worker to support upkeep and use of Kalas Community Resources. You will work with the Garden Grounds team and the Community Formation group to care for housing amenities and spaces, fostering belonging on campus. You will help oversee reservations for Community House, Fire Pit, and Garden Plots, assist with training sessions, and support outdoor facilities during seasonal changes.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student at Asbury Theological Seminary.
• Able and willing to work 20 hours weekly.
• Willing to work outdoors in heat of summer and cold of winter.
• Able to push or carry heavy loads.
• Committed to the mission statements of Asbury Seminary and the community garden.

Responsibilities

• Reservation Oversight: oversee the reservations for the Community House, Fire Pit, and Garden Plots.
• Amenities Care: work with Facilities to maintain the Community House, care for the Fire Pit and Gazebo area, including trash removal and stocking fire wood.
• Oversee Community House Training: coordinate training sessions for community members with the Director of Student Life and Community Formation.
• Other duties as specified by the supervisor.

Job Details: Job Location: Kentucky Campus - Wilmore, KY 40390, Position Type: Student, The Kalas Community and Garden Grounds Student Worker works alongside the Garden Grounds Student Worker and the larger Community Formation team to support the upkeep and use of the Kalas Community Resources. This position helps to ensure that the community focused amenities in Family Housing are well cared for and appropriately used. Ultimately, this position supports the larger Student Life and Community Formation goal to build places for belonging for our seminary community.

Qualifications: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Reservation Oversight: oversee the reservations for the Community House, Fire Pit, and Garden Plots
• Amenities Care: work alongside Facilities to make sure that the Community House is properly maintained, provide care for the Fire Pit and Gazebo area including throwing away trash and stocking fire wood
• Oversee Community House Training: work alongside the Director of Student Life and Community Formation to schedule regular training sessions for community members
• Other duties as specified
