Job summary

Y-tec Keylex Toyotetsu Alabama is seeking a hands-on welder/fabricator to support manufacturing operations in Madison, AL. The role involves fabricating and repairing auxiliary equipment, welding racks and carts, and performing daily 5S and Kaizen activities on the shop floor.

Candidates should have 1+ years of welding/fabrication experience, knowledge of fabrication processes, and the ability to obtain forklift/Genie Boom certification.

Qualifications

• One or more years of hands-on welding and general fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of material and fabrication processes and tooling and fabrication equipment capabilities.
• Able to obtain/maintain certification to operate forklift and Genie Boom.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of self and others by following all safety policies and wearing PPE.
• Operate cutting torch, welding equipment, drill press, saw, plasma cutters and grinders.
• Fabricate parts racks, carts, part stands from scratch and weld assemblies as required.
• Weld racks, containers, carts and related production items.
• Perform daily 5S in the Kaizen shop and support Kaizen activities across departments.

Summary/ Objective:Support the manufacturing operations and Kaizen department through fabrication, repair, or modification of auxiliary equipment.Essential Functions (but are not limited to):• Ensures safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PPE.• Operates a cutting torch, welding equipment, drill press, saw and various hand tools such as saws, drills, plasma cutters, grinders, etc., and able to be certified to operate a forklift and genie boom.• Container, dolly, parts rack, carts repair using welder, saw, drill press etc.• Fabrication from scratch of parts racks, parts carts, part stands, etc.• Welding parts racks, containers, parts carts, etc.• Fabrication of any other requested production supporting item.• Miscellaneous duties to help various departments implement Kaizens.• Daily 5S of the Kaizen shop.• Regular attendance is requiredOther Duties:Must be flexible to work in all areas and in your department regardless of duties listed above in order to accomplish YKTA Goals and objectives.Required Qualifications and Experience• One or more years of hands-on welding and general fabrication experience• Knowledge of material and fabrication processes and tooling and fabrication equipment capabilities..Environment:Work is conducted in an industrial office/ plant setting.Frequent movement throughout an industrial plant environment being exposed to high noise levels and equipment normally used in stamping / welding/ Ecoat environments.Physical Demands:Prolonged periods of standing on the plant floor.Repetitive reaching, pulling, bending, lifting overhead is possible.Must be able to lift up to 33 pounds at times.EEO Statement:YKTA desires to create and maintain a work environment that is committed to providing equal opportunity for employment and success for all team members.
