Job summary

The Walt Disney Company—Disneyland Resort is seeking a Security K9 Manager to lead the canine program and train hourly Canine Handlers, Trainers, and Working Leads. You will oversee administrative and operational functions, ensure regulatory compliance, and sustain certification aligned with NAPWDA standards or equivalent.

The role requires strong coaching and mentoring, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple working dogs in a licensed kennel.

Qualifications

• Strong partnering, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.
• Experience caring for multiple working dogs in a kennel setting.
• Certification as a Detection Dog Handling trainer.
• Ability to obtain California BSIS Proprietary Private Security Office License.
• Valid California driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the role.
• 3+ years in a K9 unit leadership position or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage all administrative and operational functions of the K9 program.
• Ensure the K9 program complies with applicable regulations and certifications, including annual certification via NAPWDA standards or equivalent.
• Train and lead hourly Canine Handlers, Trainers, and Working Leads.
• Support strategies, objectives and mission of the Disneyland Resort Security & Emergency Services.
