Working in partnership with a prestigious academic publisher, Lumina Datamatics is seeking experienced developmental editors (DEs) with expertise developing K9-12 ELT/ESL Teacher's Books for the Middle Eastern market. Work is ready to begin now and will run through this year and into summer of 2026.

The project involves the development of a series of three ELT Teacher’s Books (TBs) to accompany Student Books (SBs) for levels 4, 5, and 6 (Grade 10, 11, and 12) targeted at the Middle Eastern market. DEs will be responsible for writing/editing content in collaboration with a subject matter expert, and revising existing content based on client feedback. Additional ancillary materials such as language companions, online practice, and classroom resources will also be developed.

Credentials:

A bachelor’s degree or higher (subject areas may vary)

Certification in ELT, ESL, or EFL preferred

Extensive experience writing and/or editing ELT content, particularly for the Middle Eastern market is also preferred

Experience developing high school books is required

Experience teaching English language learners is a big plus but not required.

Time commitment:

Development of the first TB is in production now with the others starting up soon. An overall timeline for the TB creation is now through July 2026. Each TB will have approximately 456 pages, with each unit consisting of about 57 pages, roughly 8 units per book.

Compensation:

Editing: A rate of $23 per page is offered, which includes:

• Developmental edit of the initial manuscript

• Working with the writer during manuscript development

• One round of editing the revised manuscript following client feedback

• DEs will be assigned 10–26 pages per unit, $230–$598, with new units starting up approx. every 3 weeks.
