A public education institution in Bismarck seeks a K - 8 Virtual Instructor to design and deliver engaging virtual instruction for students. Bismarck Public Schools is accepting applications for a K - 8 Virtual Instructor. A teaching contract is 187 days. External candidates are allowed to bring in up to 16 years of contracted K - 12 teaching experience. Applicants for teaching positions will be asked to complete the EPI Candidate Assessment. The K-8 Virtual Instructor designs and delivers high-quality, engaging virtual instruction for students across kindergarten through eighth grade. This role fosters a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate online learning environment and works collaboratively with families, school teams, and support staff to support student success and achievement.
Reports to: LDI Director
The K-8 Virtual Instructor has a significant impact on student learning and achievement in a digital environment. The role requires independent judgment, collaboration with various stakeholders, and consistent documentation of student progress and instructional practices.
This position will report to the Central Administration Building (CAB) with flexibility to work outside the regular workday to meet student needs. It involves extended use of computers and digital platforms in an indoor, office-like setting.
Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience
Experience with Learning Management Systems preferred
Previous experience in virtual or blended learning environments preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Education required
Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction preferred
Valid North Dakota Teaching License required
Kindergarten endorsement preferred
Participation in ongoing professional development in virtual instruction and curriculum design is required
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance required
