  • Collaborate with staff to ensure a smooth instructional day.
  • Adapt quickly to different classrooms, grade levels, and subjects.
  • Contribute to a positive learning environment and continuity of education.

Compensation:

$162.00 - full day (4 or more hours)

$81.00 - half day (less than 4 hours)

$172.00 - Super Sub full day

$194.00 - Long-Term Substitute Assignments

Nature of Work:

As a substitute teacher at BCCS, you will:

Manage classroom instruction and routines in the absence of the regular teacher.

Deliver prepared lesson plans and maintain instructional momentum.

Support student learning and engagement through effective classroom management strategies.

Monitor student progress and provide feedback when needed.

Collaborate and communicate with school staff to ensure a smooth instructional day.

Adapt quickly to different classrooms, grade levels, and subject areas as needed.

Substitute teachers play a critical role in maintaining educational continuity and creating a positive learning environment for all students.

Required Qualifications:

A valid Colorado Department of Education teaching license or substitute authorization.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced educational setting.

Ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team. (having respected and trusted colleagues, preferably as teammates, makes the demands of teaching sustainable.)

Ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances (student characteristics, curriculum, and so on).

A belief in empowering all children as owners of their learning.
