Job summary

St Mary’s Public School in Mt. Angel, Oregon, seeks a Special Education Assistant-Temporary to support K-8 students with disabilities. The role involves small-group and one-on-one instruction, supervising students, and assisting teachers with IEPs and progress monitoring.

7 hours/day for the 2026-2027 school year. Qualifications include two years of college or an Associate degree (or higher) and experience with students with disabilities is preferred; Spanish bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Two years of college or an Associate or higher degree or passed local Paraprofessional Academic Assessment
• Paraprofessional Academic Assessment may be required
• Bilingual-Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in groups with reading, math and writing tasks
• Support special education staff in K-8 settings and supervise students
• Assist with tracking, attendance and record-keeping
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with IEP implementations
• Escort and supervise students in classes, recess, PE, library and field trips
