Job summary

Sugar Creek Charter School, Inc. is seeking a K–8 School Nurse (RN) to promote student health and safety, manage chronic conditions, and respond to medical emergencies. The nurse will collaborate with teachers, families, and healthcare providers to remove health barriers to learning.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license and can exercise professional nursing judgment within North Carolina Board of Nursing scope. This on-site role supports health services across the K–8 campus.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license.
• Experience delivering school-based health services is preferred.
• Ability to exercise professional nursing judgment independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine, preventive, and emergency nursing care to students in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Assess illnesses, injuries, and health concerns; determine interventions and communicate with families or EMS as needed.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders and school procedures.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic or complex conditions.
• Support students with health conditions and maintain a safe and well-stocked health office.
• Maintain accurate student health records and ensure confidentiality as required by law.
• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with leadership and families.
