Job summary

Birch Behavioral school is seeking a Visual Arts Consultant to oversee K-6 visual arts coursework, organize materials, and model engaging instruction. The role emphasizes collaboration with district staff and development of accessible, standards-aligned content.

The candidate will design demonstrations and handouts, support SPED-related science integration, and ensure consistent presence at centers to advance student learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Art, Visual Arts or comparable degree.
• NH certification to teach Visual Arts.
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience for K-6.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings.
• Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state education laws.

Responsibilities

• Provides materials and curriculum engaging for K-6 students.
• On-site consultation on-site minimum 2x per month.
• Maintains regular attendance at the center.
• Delivers instruction aligned to NH state guidelines.
• Designs and enhances curriculum and materials as needed.
• Plans and displays student art exhibitions for school/community.
• Assists SPED-related science lesson support as applicable.
• Collaborates with district staff to review curricula and procure materials.
• Contributes to a learning environment that engages all learners.
