Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a full-time K-5 Special Education Teacher at Academy South to deliver inclusive instruction and support students with disabilities. The role focuses on IEP-driven planning, collaboration with staff, and ongoing assessment to foster student growth.

The position offers a 192-day academic year, a $2,000 sign-on bonus, a starting salary of $55,600, health care options, and retirement plan contributions.

Qualifications

• Indiana Teaching License in Special Education.
• Competency in using technology in the classroom setting.
• Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
• A strong belief in the mission and goals of Christel House Schools.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining all special education documentation and timelines for case conferences in accordance with state and federal requirements.
• Ensuring the delivery of services outlined in individual education plans for students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that facilitate active learning.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies.
• Demonstrate a desire for working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
• Participate in appropriate professional activities
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships
