Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a full-time K-5 Special Education Teacher to join Academy South. The role involves delivering services per IEPs, maintaining compliance, and fostering inclusive learning for diverse students.

You will collaborate with on-site staff and specialists to support the whole child, with a focus on character education and social-emotional learning. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered along with comprehensive benefits and retirement contributions.

Qualifications

• Indiana Teaching License in Special Education.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Competency in using technology in the classroom.
• Ability to report to work regularly and on time.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining all special education documentation and timelines for case conferences in accordance with state and federal requirements.
• Ensuring the delivery of services outlined in individual education plans for students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that facilitate active learning.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies.
• Demonstrate a desire for working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
• Participate in appropriate professional activities
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships
