Job summary

Operation Breakthrough is seeking a K-5 Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction for up to five students in a self-contained classroom. You will design and implement instruction aligned with IEPs, collaborate with OT, PT, and speech therapists, and partner with families to support each child’s growth.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, valid state certification, and experience with elementary students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid state teaching certification or eligibility.
• Experience with K-5 students with disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of IEP development and differentiated instruction.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction based on each student’s IEP.
• Adapt curriculum and activities to meet a wide range of learning needs.
• Establish routines that promote safety, independence, and learning.
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction based on student needs.
• Collaborate with related service providers (OT, PT, speech) and families.
• Maintain accurate student records and progress toward goals.
