Job summary

Madison Elementary School seeks a dedicated Media Specialist / Technology Teacher to inspire reading and build foundational tech skills for grades K–5. You will integrate library/media concepts with technology, digital citizenship, and research to create engaging, cross-curricular learning experiences.

Work with classroom teachers to support curriculum goals, promote inquiry, and foster responsible, independent learners in a digitally-rich elementary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Educational Technology, Library Science, or a related field.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s).
• Strong understanding of elementary instructional practices, classroom management, and child development.
• Proficiency with educational technology, digital learning platforms, and common productivity applications.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate media and technology lessons for grades K–5.
• Teach foundational technology skills, including keyboarding, digital navigation, productivity tools.
• Develop students' digital literacy skills, including online safety and digital citizenship.
• Introduce students to research skills and information literacy.
• Incorporate creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learners.
• Establish a positive, inclusive learning environment with clear routines.
