Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district curriculum requirements and show written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior.
• Establish a system of student evaluation and report progress to parents as needed.
• Teach within the course of study for the subject area and grade level.
• Plan lessons leading to objectives and provide written plans for substitutes.
• Provide varied learning experiences using diverse media and methods.
• Identify pupil needs and collaborate with staff to support health and learning problems.
• Counsel students and parents before and after school as needed.
• Communicate the educational program to the community and participate in open houses/PTA meetings.
• Coordinate with the principal to develop evaluation and assessment processes.
