Job summary

St. Joseph on Carrollton Manor in Frederick, MD is seeking a part-time Coordinator of Religious Education to lead K-5 catechesis and elementary sacramental preparation within a multilingual pastorate.

The 19 hour/week role reports to the Director of Formation and Accompaniment and involves coordinating family sessions, volunteer teams, and faith-formation events. Ideal candidates hold a religious education or theology degree (preferred), are practicing Catholics, and can work evenings and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Religious Education or Theology, preferred.
• Practicing Catholic with a passion to share the mission of the church with families.
• Minimum 3 years relevant work experience/volunteering.
• Knowledge of Diocesan guidelines and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with adults and youth.
• Hours include evenings and weekends; ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Implement and facilitate the K-5 catechesis with flexibility to current models and new initiatives.
• Assist with planning and implementation of family sessions/events for the Pastorate.
• Work with faith formation team and staff within the Pastorate's vision and mission.
• Recruit, lead, and mentor adult volunteers for grades and programming.
• Coordinate and lead sacramental preparation for elementary students, including parent sessions, retreats, practices, and celebrations.
• Attend staff, team, and Archdiocese meetings.
