Job summary

Primavera Online School in Arizona seeks an Elementary School Electives Teacher to deliver standards-aligned elective instruction remotely to elementary students, with occasional in-person testing travel.

This role requires an AZ-certified teacher, experience with virtual learning, strong communication, and a commitment to inclusive, student-centered instruction.

Qualifications

• Valid Standard Professional Arizona Teaching Certificate with endorsement(s) appropriate to the elective area(s) assigned.
• Elementary-level teaching experience in a virtual or in-person setting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills with students, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned elective instruction through virtual sessions, small groups, and one-on-one check-ins.
• Monitor student progress, attendance, academic integrity, and engagement, using data to inform instructional decisions and provide feedback.
• Develop individualized learning goals, differentiate instruction for diverse learners, and design and grade assessments.
• Partner with academic coaches, counselors, administrators, and families to support students' academic and social-emotional needs.
• Use online platforms and SIS tools to manage instruction, documentation, and family outreach.
• Availability to work core hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Arizona time, Monday–Friday; some travel for testing occurs.

You’ll be part of theElementary Schoolteam, working closely withdedicated elementary school teachers across content areas, academic success coaches, school counselors, instructional coaches and school leadership. This team is responsible fordelivering engaging, standards-aligned elective instruction to elementary learners-expanding student interests, creative expression, and real-world skills that complement core academics and prepare every student for high school and beyond.

A Typical Day Looks Like:

While no two days are exactly the same, you can expect to:

• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned elective instruction through virtual sessions, small groups, and one-on-one check-ins; adapt pacing and strategies to meet the diverse interests and learning needs of elementary students
• Monitor student progress, attendance, academic integrity, and engagement—using data to make informed instructional decisions and provide timely, meaningful feedback
• Develop and implement individualized learning goals, differentiate instruction for diverse learners, and design and grade assessments that measure student growth and skill development within the elective area
• Partner with academic student success coaches, school counselors, administrators, instructional coaches and families to support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of every student
• Use online learning platforms, student information systems, and communication tools to manage instruction, documentation, family outreach, and professional collaboration
• Attendance at key school events (e.g., student orientations, school-sponsored activities, and other events aligned to this role) is required, based on role responsibilities and reasonable proximity to the event location. These events may occur outside of regular working hours and may require occasional travel.
• This position requires availability to work core business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Arizona time, Monday through Friday.
• Must be available to work in person for approximately six weeks each year to support Arizona state testing, including travel to assigned testing locations.
• Performs other duties aligned to the role and organizational needs as assigned.

This role balancesstructured virtual sessions with responsive, relationship-driven supportand is well-suited for someone who enjoysconnecting with students at one of the most pivotal stages of their development, helping them explore interests and build skills beyond the core curriculum, and showing up every day with purpose in a fast-paced virtual environment.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• Valid Standard Professional Arizona Teaching Certificate with endorsement(s) appropriate to the elective area(s) assigned (Preferred)
• Teaching experience at the elementary level in a virtual or in-person setting
• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills with students, families, and colleagues

Bonus points if you also have:

• Experience using adaptive technology tools, learning management systems, or student information platforms in an instructional setting
• Background in differentiated instruction, project-based or creative learning, or supporting diverse learners including English Language Learners and students with IEPs
