Responsibilities

• In person job attendance.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation when requested.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, projects, and the like.
• Employs various instructional techniques and media suited to the location and student needs.
• Follows curriculum guides and meets minimum guidelines for each subject area.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports as required.
• Identifies learning disabilities and seeks assistance as needed.
• Protects students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains records as required by law and policy.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and classroom rules; maintains order and discipline.
• Makes provisions to be available to students and parents outside instructional hours when required.
• Conducts conferences with pupils and parents as needed.
• Plans and supervises work for teacher aides and volunteers; evaluates performance.
• Maintains professional competence and proper certification.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on committees.
• Complies with board policies, directives, and laws.
• Other duties as assigned.
