Job summary

Alpha in Austin is seeking an on-site Early Childhood Specialist to lead K-3 cohorts, delivering life-skills workshops and coaching five days per week. You will use Coachbot to identify students who lag behind and tailor interventions while maintaining high standards and motivating children.

A bachelor’s degree is required; no teaching certificate is needed, and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. The role is full-time on site at an Alpha campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field; teaching certificate not required.
• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, or after-school programs.
• Experience leading structured activities and engaging 10–15+ children.
• Ability to explain ideas to young learners and redirect groups in real time.
• Willing to be measured and rely on weekly cohort data to guide time allocation.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hour-long life-skills workshops for K-3 students.
• Provide coaching to students individually and in small groups using Coachbot to target progress.
• Evaluate life-skill proficiency and continue coaching to reach benchmarks.
• Adapt teaching methods to developmental stages (songs, movement, storytelling).
• Build trust to encourage risk-taking and persistence.
• Review cohort performance weekly via dashboard data.
