Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must meet Highly Qualified Status by one of: 2/4 year degree; 48 semester hours; Pathways to TA + WorkKeys.
• Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children; ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Gives group instruction as prescribed by teacher and provides individualized instruction.
• Arranges classroom furnishings and prepares visual aids; duplicates materials.
• Checks and reports attendance and enters data in health record; reports student progress to teacher.
• Supervises students in classroom and other locations; promotes student self-esteem and citizenship.
• Disciplinies misbehavior through approved methods and supports district values.
