Job summary

Penn Hills School District is hiring paraprofessionals for an intensive support K-2 classroom at Penn Hills Elementary School. This role requires working under PA certified professionals to support instructional and non-instructional tasks.

You may need clearances, a negative TB test, and collaboration with teachers for IEP goals. Qualifications include an associate degree or 60 credits; PA Credential of Competency for Special Paraeducator; 1–2 years' experience with special needs preferred; and

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or 60 college credits or TABE score meeting average or above average.
• Complete Credential of Competency for Special Paraeducator in Pennsylvania.
• 1–2 years experience with children with special needs preferred.
• CPR and First Aid training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students to and from the bus at arrival and departure times.
• Provide personal care services as needed for daily living activities.
• Prepare and operate instructional materials and equipment as directed.
• Maintain attendance records and protect confidentiality.
• Assist with feeding and cafeteria supervision as needed.
• Use assistive technology and educational devices for instruction.
• Participate in IEP and parent/teacher conferences.
