Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida is seeking an Academic Specialist to support literacy and academic growth for Kindergarten through second grade members. The role partners with REED Charitable Foundation to deliver evidence-based literacy interventions and progressive learning plans.

The position involves diagnostic assessments, data-driven instruction, and reporting progress to leadership and funders, while ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment within BGCCF clubs.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of work experience in an educational setting with a focus on literacy programs.
• Experience developing and implementing project-based learning and high-yield educational activities.
• Experience with databases and CRM systems to manage student information and track progress.

Responsibilities

• Lead educational programs and activities with a primary focus on improving literacy for Kindergarten through second grade.
• Develop project-based learning and high-yield activities to support academic success.
• Establish and maintain safe, well-ventilated, well-lit program areas and proper storage of equipment.
• Coordinate intervention schedules and daily programs to ensure efficient literacy support.
