Job summary

The Academic Specialist at Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida (BGCCF) provides intensive literacy, STEM, mathematics, and other academic support for Club members aged 6 to 18. This grant-funded, part-time role at the West Sanford Branch reports to the Director of Academic Success and aims to foster academic growth and personal development in a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will monitor progress, develop high-yield educational initiatives, and offer group instruction as needed,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years in an educational setting with literacy focus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Experience developing project-based learning and high-yield educational activities.
• Ability to analyze data and monitor progress to inform instruction.
• Experience using databases and CRM systems to manage student information.

Responsibilities

• Lead educational programs and activities focused on improving literacy for members aged 6–18.
• Develop project-based learning and high-yield activities to support academic success.
• Ensure safe, well-lit, and properly ventilated program areas and maintain equipment.
• Collaborate with schools and community organizations to enhance academic growth.
