Qualifications

• Requires collaboration with teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Assist students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments.
• Maintain confidentiality of pupil records and school reports.

Responsibilities

• Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
• Assists teacher in devising strategies for reinforcing materials or skills based on student needs.
• Guides independent study and enrichment activities as directed.
• Reads to students and participates in oral reading activities.
• Assists with arrival and dismissal of students.
• Assists with personal hygiene needs, which may include dressing and/or toileting.
• Monitors small group testing and reports unusual behavior.
