Job summary

Love To Code Academy in Kansas City seeks an energetic part-time Early Stage Coach for K–2 students in the Participant stage of development. You will lead coding and robotics sessions, engaging 6–8 year olds with warmth and structure while guiding beginner tech activities.

The role emphasizes consistent energy, safe classroom management, and real-time positive reinforcement. No prior programming background required, but enthusiasm for teaching kids is essential.

Qualifications

• High energy and warmth to engage 6–8 year olds.
• Ability to keep a room of young students engaged and safe.
• Comfort with beginner tech and block-based coding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead each session using the Engage, Build, Challenge, Reflect four-phase model.
• Name traits in real time to reinforce positive behavior.
• Redirect misaligned behavior promptly and calmly, with clear direction.
• Guide age-appropriate coding and robotics activities; celebrate progress.
• Track student progress and communicate readiness to the Lead Coach.
• Brief parents on session highlights at pickup when appropriate.
