Job summary

Grade Potential Tutoring is seeking tutors for in-person, after-school sessions hosted at a church in Detroit. Groups cover pre-K through 12th grade with 1-on-1 homework help and general education support on Tuesdays from 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm.

Tutors should bring grade-level worksheets, be able to travel 5–10 miles, and have teaching/tutoring experience. Compensation is $40 per hour ($60 per session).

Qualifications

• You have experience teaching/tutoring.
• You are available for weekly in-person sessions on Tuesdays from 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm.
• You are willing to travel within your preferred local radius to meet the students (typically 5-10 miles).
• Due to insurance requirements, applicant must not be a minor.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 homework and general education support.
• Use grade-level-appropriate worksheets and your own materials as needed.
• Help students complete homework and reinforce concepts in school.

About the students

• Church organization seeking multiple tutors for an after-school program. 1-on-1 homework and general education support with students ranging from pre-K through 12th grade.
  
• Students are split into four groups, with one tutor per group. Group 1: Pre-K - 1st grade; Group 2: 2nd grade - 5th grade; Group 3: 6th grade - 8th grade; Group 4: 9th grade - 12th grade.
  
• Tutors should bring grade-level-appropriate worksheets for students who do not have homework.
  
• The goal is to provide students with consistent academic support, particularly with homework completion, understanding assignments, and reinforcing concepts they may be struggling with in school. The program is intended to give students an opportunity to receive individualized attention and additional academic guidance.
  
• Weekly in-person tutoring sessions will take place on Tuesdays from 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm.
  
• Sessions will take place at the church in Detroit.
  

Requirements

REQUIRED
