Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a school counselor to provide comprehensive services for students across academic, personal/social and career development. You will conduct individual and group counseling, classroom guidance, and referrals, supporting teachers, families and the community.

Responsibilities include reviewing data, coordinating interventions, and participating in SST/504 meetings and school events.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in school counseling or endorsement in school counseling.
• Virginia certification in school counseling is required.
• Experience with K-12 guidance programs and ASCA-aligned practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to students in academic, personal/social and career development.
• Counsel students individually and in small groups.
• Conduct classroom guidance activities and organize guidance lessons.
• Review school data to ensure the counseling program meets student needs.
• Assist in conflict resolution and identification of students with special needs.
• Refer students to intervention programs and community resources.
• Participate in SST, 504 meetings, and parent/teacher conferences.
