Job summary

DIVISION WIDE is seeking a School Counselor – Secondary in Stafford, Virginia to support students' personal, emotional and academic development within the school setting. The counselor will implement a comprehensive counseling program, provide individual and group guidance, and collaborate with teachers, parents and community resources to ensure student success.

Qualifications include a Master’s in school counseling, two years of related experience, and familiarity with educational assessments

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university and completion of an approved school guidance and counseling program.
• Two (2) years of successful full-time teaching experience or two years of successful experience in guidance and counseling.
• Complete specialized studies in school counseling elementary, middle or secondary counseling.

Responsibilities

• Provides counsel to students including individual, group or classroom guidance and use of assessments.
• Consults with staff, parents and community agencies to plan appropriate coursework and student support.
• Assists in collecting and maintaining educational records and data for program planning.
• Stays informed about school life and participates in committees as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with district policies.
