Job summary

Amergis, recently operating as Maxim Healthcare Staffing’s affiliate, seeks a Special Education Teacher to support K–12 students in Reading, PA. This contract-full-time position emphasizes teamwork with the Special Education Program Administrator and general education staff to plan and implement student programs.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and an appropriate teaching certificate with LBS1 endorsement preferred. Competitive $50/hour pay, weekly paychecks, and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment (preferred).
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching (preferred).
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching (preferred).
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching (preferred).
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB screening/PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to special education students from kindergarten through grade 12.
• Collaborate with the Special Education Program Administrator and general education staff in planning and implementing student programs.
• Offer special instruction, tutoring assistance and consultation as part of student programs.
