Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a contract-full-time role in Newark, DE. The teacher will provide services to K-12 students under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator and collaborate with general education staff.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree, state certification, and relevant endorsements; CPR/health compliance may be required; 18+ years old. Benefits include insurance options and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• The Special Education Teacher provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12.
• Collaborates with the Special Education Program Administrator and staff to plan and implement student programs.
• Provides special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

State teaching certificate

Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

Standard Special Teaching preferred

Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred
