Job summary

Sonoran Schools is seeking an experienced K-12 Special Education Coordinator to support special education programs across our campuses. The role involves ensuring compliance with IDEA and Arizona requirements, leading IEP/MET processes, and partnering with families and campus leadership.

The ideal candidate will be organized, knowledgeable about special education compliance, and capable of building strong relationships with staff and families while working under the Director of Exceptional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate or administrative/supervisory certification.
• At least 2 years of experience in special education.
• Strong understanding of IDEA and Arizona requirements, Child Find, evaluations, eligibility, and IEP processes.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Active DPS Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Monitor special education records, IEPs, MET documentation, evaluations, and related files for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate initial and reevaluation MET/IEP meetings with required team members.
• Provide coaching and ongoing support to special education teachers and case managers.
• Assist staff with IDEA compliance, transition planning, and collaboration across campuses.
