Job summary

SSOE in Atlanta is seeking an experienced Project Architect to lead multi-disciplinary teams on K-12 education projects, from programming through construction administration, prioritizing design excellence.

Candidates must hold a NAAB-accredited architecture degree, be a registered RA, have 5–10 years of practice, and exhibit strong Revit, AutoCAD, BIM coordination, and clear communication with Owners and stakeholders. Willingness to travel regionally is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Architecture from a NAAB-accredited program.
• Active Registered Architect (RA) license in good standing; reciprocal licensure encouraged.
• 5–10 years of progressive professional architectural experience with leadership of project teams.
• Proven experience in K-12 educational design and understanding of current K-12 trends.
• Strong 2D & 3D graphic skills to communicate concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Revit and standard AEC software (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office 365).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
• Experience coordinating architectural documents with MEP, structural and other disciplines.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop design strategies reflecting design-first philosophy and sustainability.
• Lead projects from programming through construction administration with quality, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Direct project teams and mentor junior staff to maintain momentum.
• Serve as primary contact for owners, discipline leads, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and interior disciplines for integrated construction documents.
• Lead BIM coordination meetings and resolve cross-discipline clashes collaboratively.
• Mentor junior architects and interns through design critique and career development.
