Job summary

Qualifications

• Satisfactory CORI, SORI, and Fingerprinting are required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to children and adults.
• Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education in a related field, while not required, considered a plus.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall support to the classroom teacher and students, based on the needs of the classroom.
• Assists classroom teacher in preparing lessons and related materials.
• Incorporates knowledge of student learning styles and child development to assist student learning.
• Recognizes when teaching and learning strategies are not successful and seeks guidance to adapt accordingly.
• Provides support in crisis situations using district-approved safety/restraint protocol when necessary.
• Other duties, as required.
