Job summary

Historic Hudson Valley in Westchester seeks a K-12 Program Manager to lead planning, prototyping and delivery of inclusive K-12 educational programs, both in-person and digital, at Sunnyside, Philipsburg Manor and beyond.

You will train educators, manage outreach to schools, develop resources with curatorial staff, and oversee staff. The role requires strong teaching and museum-education background, plus excellent organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Classroom teaching experience highly preferred.
  • Museum education experience, especially in historic houses.
  • Strong organizational and communications skills.
  • Self-motivated with project ownership.
  • Initiative, resourcefulness and creativity.
  • People skills and visitor engagement.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Zoom, and project tools.
  • Additional languages a plus.
  • Must arrange own transportation to HHV sites.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prototype and deliver high-quality K-12 field trips and activities.
  • Train museum educators in on-site programs.
  • Develop teacher professional development and outreach with schools.
  • Supervise K-12 Program Assistant and support council activities.
  • Collaborate with library and curatorial teams for resources.
  • Contribute to scripts, interpretive materials and evaluations.
  • Occasional setup/breakdown of events and weekend hours.
