Job summary

Meteor Education is seeking an Interior Designer to support sales by creating furniture layouts and design concepts for K-12 projects. You will apply the Meteor Core Process across discovery, creation and execution phases and collaborate with a regional Studio team.

You will develop 2D/3D presentations, specify finishes, stay within budgets, and travel to meetings and training events, including Gainesville, FL. A Bachelor’s or higher in Interior Design is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in interior design or similar
• Familiar with K-12 or educational spaces is a plus
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or CET, and Microsoft Suite

Responsibilities

• Attend project programming meetings in person or on Zoom with salesperson, educational specialist and client to determine scope of the project.
• Collaborate with salesperson and educational specialist to strategize on how to best address the client’s needs.
• Develop conceptual design solutions reflecting information gathered during the intake meeting.
• Create and present visual presentations including 2D drawings, 3D renderings, and furniture specifications using Meteor platforms.
• Specify furniture including finishes and custom items within our design and quoting software using multiple manufacturers.
• Work within budget constraints and timelines, recommending product solutions as discussed with salesperson and client.
• With Studio team, perform specification review and develop installation documents for each project.
• Present to customers and team members with clear, effective communication.
• Research K-12 and higher education design trends and product options, including 100+ manufacturers.
• Adhere to the Meteor Core Process and Design Drawing standards.
• Travel to client meetings, company events, onboarding in Gainesville, Florida, and functional training.
