Job summary

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Hold an educational aide license with the Ohio Department of Education.
Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with students.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow instructions and adapt to various classroom environments.

Responsibilities

Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities; provide one-on-one or small group support.
Work with students with special needs, implementing IEP-related tasks and behavior plans.
Monitor and supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and breaks; ensure safety.
Implement behavior management strategies in line with school guidelines; de-escalate conflicts.
Assist in maintaining attendance and progress records; perform clerical tasks and organize materials.
Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and school staff; report concerns to teachers or administration.
Be prepared to work in various classrooms and settings; follow instructions from teachers and staff.
