Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC) seeks a Resident Engagement Specialist in Education to lead K-12 afterschool programs, support academic success, and engage families through educational workshops and events in Arlington, VA. The role collaborates with the social services team to ensure access to resources for students and families.

This full-time position runs 40 hours per week with evening hours (11:00 AM–7:00 PM or 12:30 PM–8:30 PM on two days each) and remote Fridays, requiring

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education (Master's degree preferred).
Experience in child development and program management.
Cross-cultural competency and ability to engage diverse families.

Responsibilities

Oversee afterschool and teen tutoring programs for 20-25 children and 20 teens.
Coordinate parent workshops for 5-20 parents and adult workshops for 10-50 adults.
Plan community-building events for 50-100 residents.
Implement high-quality educational and social services programming.
Connect residents with community resources and support services.
Design and facilitate differentiated learning goals for diverse learners.
Establish trauma-informed classroom management strategies.
