Qualifications

Job Summary

Under general supervision, this role cooperates with the Varsity Head Coach to lead one of the two JV Volleyball teams. The season begins Monday, August 24 and concludes late October. Practices are held four to five times a week (3:00–4:30 or 4:30–6:00) as facility space allows, including Saturday practices and games.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Teach appropriate fundamentals, techniques, and skills.
  • Be responsible for the health and safety of the athletes.
  • Cooperate with the Varsity Head Coach to articulate a clear coaching philosophy.
  • Apply developmentally appropriate and age‑appropriate methods to coaching student‑athletes.
  • Emphasize sportsmanship and leadership among athletes.
  • Communicate clearly to players, parents, administrators, and staff.
  • Motivate athletes positively and promote teamwork.
  • Attend all meetings and training required by the league and/or Athletic Director.
  • Be familiar with and comply with all policies and regulations in the school’s documents.
  • Take all necessary precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in physical education or related field from a four‑year college or university preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in coaching volleyball required.
  • Recent successful coaching experience in an Upper School environment preferred.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card.
Salary and Benefits

Salary stipend is based on experience and ranges from $4,000 to $5,000. Stipend is paid in two installments on the last workday of each month of September and October. This position is eligible for statutory benefits only.
