Job summary

Valley Catholic School in Beaverton, OR seeks a JV2 Boys Basketball Coach to educate student athletes in a Catholic environment and guide them toward individual and team success. The role is an independent contractor position for the season with compensation commensurate with experience.

Essential duties include teaching fundamentals, developing game strategy and conditioning while shaping values such as faith, discipline, teamwork and leadership in a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• ASEP/NFHS and Coaching Certifications (including First Aid/CPR and Bloodborne Pathogen)
• Background check and fingerprint check required
• Identity and work authorization verification required

JV2 Boys Basketball Coach (Beaverton, OR)

Valley Catholic School is seeking a JV2 Boys Basketball Coach who is committed to educating student athletes from diverse backgrounds in a Catholic community; challenging each individual to live as a Catholic witness in service to others. Valley Catholic believes that the program of interscholastic athletics is an integral part of the total educational structure.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

OSAA Season: Season November 16, 2026-March 13, 2027

Essential job functions:

1. To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
2. To provide instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, strong work ethic, faith, responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, self‐discipline, leadership, and self‐confidence.

Special Requirements:

1. ASEP/NFHS and Coaching Certifications (including First Aid/CPR and Bloodborne Pathogen as well as all Archdiocesan required training and certifications.
2. Knowledge of technical aspects of the assigned sport and willingness to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to coaching and the assigned sport.
3. The person employed for this position must be able to verify identity, employment authorization, complete a background check, and complete a fingerprint check.
