Valley Catholic School in Beaverton, OR seeks a Girls Tennis Assistant Coach to develop student-athletes in a Catholic setting, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The position requires ASEP/NFHS coaching certifications (incl. First Aid/CPR and Bloodborne Pathogen) and background checks. This is a non-management, independent contractor role supporting the tennis program.

Season runs March 1–May 22, 2027; compensation is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• ASEP/NFHS coaching certifications (including First Aid/CPR and Bloodborne Pathogen) and Archdiocesan trainings.
• Knowledge of the technical aspects of tennis and willingness to adopt new coaching ideas.
• Must be able to verify identity, employment authorization, and undergo background and fingerprint checks.

• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training for individual and team success.
• Provide instruction that promotes moral values, work ethic, faith, responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, self‑discipline, leadership, and confidence.

Girls Tennis Assistant Coach (Beaverton, OR)

Valley Catholic School is seeking a Girls Tennis Assistant Coach who is committed to educating student athletes from diverse backgrounds in a Catholic community; challenging each individual to live as a Catholic witness in service to others. Valley Catholic believes that the program of interscholastic athletics is an integral part of the total educational structure.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

OSAA Season: Season March 1-May 22, 2027

Essential job functions:

• 1. To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
• 2. To provide instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, strong work ethic, faith, responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, self‑discipline, leadership, and self‑confidence.

Special Requirements:

• 1. ASEP/NFHS and Coaching Certifications (including First Aid/CPR and Bloodborne Pathogen as well as all Archdiocesan required training and certifications.
• 2. Knowledge of technical aspects of the assigned sport and willingness to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to coaching and the assigned sport.
• 3. The person employed for this position must be able to verify identity, employment authorization, complete a background check, and complete a fingerprint check.
