Job summary

Notre Dame Preparatory High School in Scottsdale, Arizona seeks a JV Head Wrestling Coach to coordinate and supervise the junior varsity program, developing athletes and aligning with school mission. You will work with the Head Coach to ensure consistency in technique and culture across practices and events, while mentoring student-athletes in athletic and personal growth.

Qualifications

• Preference given to Catholic teacher
• Certified as a coach per state requirements
• Meet Diocese of Phoenix employment requirements
• Safe Environment Training and Code of Conduct completed
• FBI fingerprint clearance completed
• Arizona driver’s license desirable

Responsibilities

• Instructs athletes in fundamental skills and training to achieve team success and promote the Pursuing Victory with Honor program
• Maintains a safe, supervised environment and follows policies
• Serves as the primary coach for junior varsity wrestlers during practices, competitions, and team activities
• Helps develop season plans, practice plans, and athlete development pathways
• Provides technical instruction in wrestling fundamentals, strategy, sportsmanship and safe training
• Evaluates athlete performance and assists in lineup decisions
• Maintains records of match results, attendance and progress
• Assists with practice and competition venue safety and equipment maintenance
• Assists with tournament registration, roster management and weigh-ins
• Demonstrates proficiency with wrestling management platforms (TrackWrestling, FloWrestling)
• Coordinates and supervises student-athletes in all wrestling activities and communicates with faculty/parents
• Supports engagement and retention for boys' and girls' wrestling
• Promotes Notre Dame Preparatory Wrestling culture and values
• Performs other duties as requested by administration
