Job summary

Holy Names Academy, an all-girls Catholic high school in Seattle, seeks an experienced part-time tennis coach for the season. The role focuses on instruction, supervision of student athletes, and collaboration with coaching staff to run practices and matches efficiently.

Ideal candidates have prior HS/youth coaching, are 25+, insured, and willing to obtain First Aid/CPR, with the ability to drive a 14-passenger minibus if needed.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching tennis at high school or youth level.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications or willingness to obtain before season.
• Must be willing and able to drive a 14-passenger minibus with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to teach tennis skills, techniques, and conditioning.
• Supervision and instruction of tennis athletes during all team activities.
• Effective communication with student athletes and their families.
• Collaborate with coaches in the HNA tennis program.
• Take direction from the Program Head and Athletic Director as needed.
• Pursue continuing education opportunities in tennis (clinics, college practices, camps).
• Maintain compliance with Holy Names Academy, Metro League, and WIAA rules.

Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: Seattle, WA 98112, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: Not Specified, Salary Range: $3,100.00 - $3,600.00 Salary, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Education, Holy Names Academy is an all-girls Catholic high school founded in 1880 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary.

The school offers excellent academic, arts, athletic, spiritual, and leadership programs that promote the development of the whole person in an environment of inclusion, collaboration, and community. Holy Names Academy is located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. HNA sports teams practice at various sites around the city.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to teach tennis specific skills, techniques, and appropriate conditioning and training programs.


• Supervision and instruction of tennis athletes during all team activities.


• Effective communication with student athletes and their families.


• Ability to work collaboratively with coaches in the HNA tennis program.


• Take direction from the Program Head and Athletic Director as needed.


• Seek continuing education opportunities and professional development opportunities in your sport (clinics, attending college practices, working camps, etc.).


• Maintain compliance with all Holy Names Academy, Metro League, and Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) rules and regulations.

Qualifications: Requirements and Qualifications

• Prior coaching experience at the high school, youth, or club level preferred


• 25 years of age or older.


• Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License.


• Available for practices Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 5:00pm, and scheduled matches (dates and times vary).


• Current First Aid and CPR and certifications, or willingness to obtain certification prior to the start of the season.


• Must be willing and able to drive a 14-passenger minibus (training provided).


• Successful completion of a criminal background check, fingerprints and Safe Environment training prior to start of season.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $3100 - 3600, paid over the season. Salary is based on skills and experience.
