Job summary

Holy Names Academy, an all-girls Catholic high school in Seattle, is seeking a part-time basketball coach. The role emphasizes teaching skills, supervising athletes, and maintaining strong communication with students and families within a faith-based, inclusive community.

Responsibilities include coordinating with coaches, adhering to league and school regulations, and pursuing ongoing professional development. Some evening and weekend activities are required.

Qualifications

• High school coaching experience preferred.
• 25 years of age or older.
• Valid Washington State driver license.
• Available for practices Monday - Friday, 4:30pm - 6:00pm, and scheduled games.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications, or willingness to obtain before season start.
• Willing to drive a 14-passenger minibus.
• Criminal background check, fingerprints and Safe Environment training prior to start.

• Supervision and instruction of athletes during all team activities.
• Effective communication with student athletes and their families.
• Ability to work collaboratively with coaches in the HNA basketball program.

• Maintain compliance with HNA, Metro League, and WIAA rules and regulations.

Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: Seattle, WA 98112, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: Not Specified, Salary Range: $3,800.00 - $4,300.00 Salary, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Education, Holy Names Academy is an all-girls Catholic high school founded in 1880 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. The school offers excellent academic, arts, athletic, spiritual, and leadership programs that promote the development of the whole person in an environment of inclusion, collaboration, and community. Holy Names Academy is located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. HNA sports teams practice at various sites around the city.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to teach basketball specific skills, techniques, and appropriate conditioning and training programs.
• Supervision and instruction of basketball athletes during all team activities.
• Effective communication with student athletes and their families.
• Ability to work collaboratively with coaches in the HNA basketball program.
• Take direction from the Program Head and Athletic Director as needed.
• Seek continuing education opportunities and professional development opportunities in your sport (clinics, attending college practices, working camps, etc.).
• Maintain compliance with all Holy Names Academy, Metro League, and Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) rules and regulations.

• Prior coaching experience at the high school, youth, or club level preferred
• 25 years of age or older.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $3800 - 4300, paid over the season. Salary is based on skills and experience.
