Job summary

Michigan City High School, part of the Michigan City Area Schools, is seeking a Softball JV Assistant Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports the Head Coach in all activities, participates in fundraising, and helps organize practices and events on site in Michigan City, Indiana.

The position requires adherence to district policies, certification through IHSAA/NFHS, and the ability to communicate with the Athletic Director and college recruiters.

Qualifications

• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Complete the IHSAA/NFHS coach certification program.
• Part-time availability for practices and games.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the total program with the Head Coach and other assistant coaches.
• Assist with all aspects of team-specific fundraising.
• Encourage team participation in Athletic Department fundraisings and communicate with the Athletic Director.
• Organize and plan practices and activities; attend required meetings.
• Assist with equipment and uniform management, inventories, and safety.
