Job summary

Ashland Public Schools is seeking a junior varsity golf head coach for the Fall 2026 season at Ashland High School. The role involves coaching, character development, and providing direction to student-athletes so they can improve skills and learn discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

A successful candidate will interact respectfully with students, staff, parents, and the community, maintain safety, and align with the Athletic Department and APS mission.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching and/or playing experience at the high school level or above is preferred.
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Available to practice after school, weekends and evenings
• Establish team goals, team rules, communicate these to all commitment to program
• CPR/First Aid Certified Preferred

Responsibilities

• Coach JV golf and provide direction to student-athletes to develop skills and sportsmanship.
• Maintain safety and program discipline; effective communication with parents and community.
• Report to Athletic Director and follow APS mission.

Job Description

Ashland High School is seeking a junior varsity head coach (golf) for the Fall 2026 season. Ashland’s coaches are actively engaged in the community, and embrace both the mission and values of the Athletic Department and APS School District. The role of the head coach is to be responsible for coaching, character development and providing direction to student-athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork in golf. This job requires you to interact thoughtfully and respectfully with student-athletes, fellow coaches, staff, parents and community and well as follow the mission of the school. Positive communication strategies, organizational skills, and safety awareness are key requirements. The junior varsity golf head coach reports to the Athletic Director.
