Job summary

Cristo Rey Orlando High School in Orlando, FL, seeks a mission-driven Junior Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach to build and shape the program in its founding year. This role focuses on developing student‑athletes through fundamentals, teamwork, and leadership under Catholic values.

The coach will lead practices and games, collaborate with the Athletic Director on scheduling and facilities, and guide players toward varsity readiness; a seasonal, part-time stipend is provided.

Qualifications

• Past coaching and/or competitive playing experience in basketball.
• Ability to teach, motivate, and mentor high school athletes.
• Commitment to the mission, values, and Catholic identity of Cristo Rey Orlando.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends during the season.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the JV basketball program, including practices, games, and conditioning.
• Teach fundamentals of basketball, teamwork, and leadership in alignment with the school mission.
• Promote good sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among athletes.
• Ensure safety and well-being of student‑athletes at practices and games.
• Collaborate with the Athletic Director to establish program structure, traditions, and goals.
• Coordinate scheduling, uniforms, transportation, and facilities with the Athletic Director.
• Communicate consistently with players, families, and school staff.
• Support development of players to be ready for varsity competition.
