Job summary

Danvers High School (DHS) within Danvers Public Schools seeks a JV Boys Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. The coach will report to the Athletic Director and lead a program designed to meet student needs while promoting academics and sportsmanship.

The role requires knowledge of basketball, prior coaching experience preferred, and adherence to MIAA rules. A CORI check and required certifications apply; stipends are paid at season end.

Qualifications

Knowledge of the assigned sport to be coached.
Previous experience coaching is preferred.
CPR/First Aid certification and completion of MIAA Fundamentals of Coaching Course.
Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

Organize, coordinate and promote a comprehensive athletic program in the assigned sport.
Provide leadership that fosters a positive learning environment and academic achievement.
Comply with MIAA Rules and Danvers Public Schools policies.
Manage uniforms, equipment and facilities in a responsible manner.
Communicate expectations of the team to participants and guardians.
Monitor athletes’ attendance, grades and conduct.
Public relations and publicity for the athletic program; communicate with parents and student athletes.
Ensure safety through proper supervision and adherence to procedures; inspect facilities and report injuries.
