To be a certified coach, applicants must be MCPS teachers or certified educators, complete the MCPS course Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED, and submit the online MCPS Application.

Qualifications

• Must be MCPS teacher or certified educator employed by MCPS.
• Must complete the two credit MCPS course Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED.
• Must complete/submit the on-line MCPS Application.
• For Level I Emergency Coach: certified teacher (not necessarily MCPS).
• For Level II Emergency Coach: high school graduate, 21+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Coach JV baseball for Montgomery Blair High School for one season.
• Coordinate with school administration and athletics staff for scheduling and safety.
